How this tracker decides
Federal baseline (TCPA and the FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule) is 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM in the called party's local time. Twenty-plus states are stricter. Where reputable sources disagreed, this sheet uses the stricter reading. States with holiday call bans are auto-marked closed on the federal holidays listed in the data. States that span two time zones show a flag; status uses the zone covering most of the population, so double-check border-area leads.
Frequency caps to remember
Florida, Maryland, and Oklahoma cap attempts at 3 per 24 hours on the same subject. Texas SB 140 (Sept 2025) makes texting violations deceptive trade practices with treble damages. Time rules apply to SMS the same as calls.
